Two victims of previous school shootings — Mia Tretta, who was shot in the stomach in 2019 at Saugus High School, and Zoe Weissman, who survived the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — are now at Brown. Gun violence is out of control in this country.

Call your gop reps and ask why 20 billion is being spent on Argentina when you can’t afford your electric bill or health insurance plan.
".. economists reckon [Milei] spent too much cash propping up an overvalued currency – creating risks for anyone who lends the country dollars .., as Bessent is hinting ..

“It’s a pretty big gamble,” says Brad Setser, a former top Treasury official

Bessent Puts US Money at Risk in $20 Billion Argentina Backstop
The Trump administration’s $20 billion lifeline for Argentina leans on a Treasury fund that’s been successfully used to bail out troubled allies in the past – but it could still carry risks for US tax...

Cost of Trump's D.C. Occupation: $1.1M per day.

Cost to operate public housing for D.C.'s entire homeless population: $169,226 per day.

It's not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Trump only got 56% of the vote in Texas this last election.

Romney got 57%

GWBush got 59% and 61%

Reagan got 63% in 1984

Nixon got 66% in 1972

LBJ got 63% in 1964

FDR got 88%, 87%, 80%, 71%

In the Solid South era, Dems routinely did >70%.

Trump: "We have an opportunity in Texas to pick up five seats ... I got the highest vote in the history of Texas as you probably know. And we are entitled to five more seats."

There you have it. Trump wants completely botched disaster responses led by incompetent politicians who refused to install flood warning sirens because taxes are socialism.

This is the future America voted for.
Kristi Noem: "Some of what for what you saw for our response in Texas is going to be a lot of how President Trump envisions what FEMA would look like into the future ... emergencies are locally executed. They are state managed. The federal government comes in and supports."

Helpless? Prayers? That’s what pastors and civilians should be doing. We pay members of Congress to ask hard questions, start investigating, and find out if the government could have done more. Do it now before the next storm. We aren’t paying you to pray. We are paying you to help all of us.
Mike Johnson on Texas floods: "In a moment like this, we feel just as helpless as everyone else does ... all we know to do at this moment is pray."

Can you imagine the sheer cruelty of looking at America right now and saying we should raise $1.2 billion by raising taxes 27% on people making under $15,000 a year — so that we can cut the taxes of people making over a million by a token 3 percent?! The cruelty astounds.
