"Booker can help rebrand his party as less risk-averse and more willing to try … something. He can rebrand himself, just as the old and ineffective guard falters. Booker’s speech was raw and visceral and real and angry. He did something. Now his colleagues and American voters must do more."
Cory Booker’s 25-Hour Speech Was a Stunt. It Worked.
The New Jersey senator’s display of stamina wasn't just for the Democratic base. It was a message to his colleagues in the Senate.

Tonight I witnessed history on the Senate floor. Thank you, @booker.senate.gov, for standing up for everyday Americans, for our health care, and for our democracy.

This moment calls for moral courage. It isn’t left or right—it’s right or wrong. Let’s keep making good trouble.
Thank you, Senator Booker. Let’s keep making good trouble.

Sincere civic pride is a beautiful thing
so my favorite dive bar in WI passed up showing tonight’s Bucks game so they could show live poll results. when the election was called for Crawford, the whole bar started chanting, “Fuck El*n”. the bartender pulled out the good stuff and handed out free shots to us all—an absolutely electric nite

Let's appreciate the poetry of this beautiful moment.
Longest speaking filibuster ever was 24 hours, 18 minutes by Strom Thurmond in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

In a few hours, that record will be shattered by Sen. Cory Booker, a Black man, laying out the case for saving democracy from an aspiring despot.

Despite ridership rebound to 75% of pre-pandemic levels, the SFMTA board voted 4-3 yesterday to cut service this summer. Cuts won't help with voter confidence to save and improve service!

Trump’s “Liberation Day” Tariffs are designed to liberate Americans from their hard-earned cash and will:

- Make groceries more expensive
- Crash markets and retirements
- And make it harder to build and make things in America.

How do we know? Anyone…anyone?

Because, we know.

The chaos must end.

The best way to repair the damage neoliberal policies like NAFTA did to states like mine would be to invest in new infrastructure projects like energy and high-speed rail.

We can diversify our energy sector, improve transportation, & manufacture everything here.

Pretty interesting how everywhere Trump has business associates and/or business interests did fine today: the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Turkey, the UK, Israel, El Salvador, Argentina, and of course Russia—which is full of people Trump wants to work with in the future. Only China got screwed.
