I'm a physicist and engineer whose last academic gig was as an adjunct prof in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at Queen's (Kingston) and I wear a KN95 in all indoor public spaces. I'm #oneofthetwo because I understand fluid mechanics and disease transmission. These assholes don't.

@sarahtaber.bsky.social I know this is grim, but wondering if you might comment on the long term implications of this situation for humans if CO2 levels continue to rise unabated? Human health will weaken in general as nutritional levels fall?

Ugh, this 60 min interview with RR from just a couple of months ago is so sad. He talks about his struggles with his own dad, and it sounds exactly like the troubles he as apparently having with his son Nick. youtu.be/DLeBquj8LKI?...

😬 "believed to have been infected through human-to-human spread"...

Meanwhile our homicidally negligent public health and infection control leaders are still lying to the public about the need for proper protections against aerosol transmission, to cover up their last lethal "very big mistake".

Earlier this fall, a student I taught in a class as an adjunct about a year ago was killed in a random act of gun violence, and I was devastated. I can't imagine hearing that someone attacked an entire review session for one of my classes. Heartbroken for the Brown community. 😢
"Rachel Friedberg, a Brown economics professor, said the mass shooting happened in a review session for the final exam of her Principles of Economics course. She said she learned what happened from a teaching assistant who led the session. Friedberg herself was not present."

Trump's own lawyer just admitted to the Supreme Court that American consumers pay 30%-80% of these insane Trump tariffs.

Over the next 10 years, Trump says they will collect over $4T in tariffs.

So that means American families are going to be paying $1.2T-$3.3 trillion dollars in TARIFF TAXES.

As a Midwesterner, I can't help but point out that it is true that the housing and culture war crises are the result of so many of the powerful institutions of our country being located on the coasts -- the major banks, the oldest and most massively endowed universities that fund the most research..

Wowza. J.D. "I'm Mr. Republican Happily Married Family Man" Vance is going to have to answer some weird questions about Republican connections to Nick Fuentes, who seems to have influenced the kid who killed Charlie Kirk. Fuentes claims to be an incel, and having sex with women makes you gay???

Oh lord. I’ve seen the term “Groyper” before but honestly didn’t know what it was and had to look it up. It appears that there’s a whole inter-right wing power struggle that’s been happening for a while, which is the likely background for the Kirk shooting www.nytimes.com/2025/09/09/u...

I’m curious about respondent Paul mentioned in the article- couldn’t an idea of “free will” be connected to physics through Einstein’s relativity? If we know through relativity that people perceive the passage of time differently based on geography, (1/2)
