Annoyance time

This artwork by Piotr Forkasiewicz was created for the cover of my Fairey Swordfish book from Mortons. We decided on the composition after studying all the accounts from the aircrews involved and photos of the op

But whenever it is posted online, people decry it as inaccurate…

First kit of the year done, the 1:35 Italeri ambulance Jeep. It's an older kit and it shows in a few points, but goes together quite well.

Okay, #histscalemodels, the NAACC Open House roundup. I'm going to start with the the model show. Categories included early armor, WW2 Allies, WW2 Axis, Cold War NATO, Cold War Warsaw Pact, Modern, and dioramas. There were so many excellent builds I am so thankful to have won anything. 🧵

Here we go!
Tinted the mortar into a light gray and gave it a quick coat of matte varnish.
Don’t get me wrong glazed bricks looked nice but I don’t think it fits the house 😝

It’s just a little chimney but this honestly was a fun and satisfying build!

The Blackburn Botha (1938) was designed as a maritime patrol aircraft and torpedo bomber. However, the type was underpowered, among other issues, and proved unsuitable for its intended purpose. It saw very limited frontline service before moving to secondary roles.

Well that’s the #FestiveTankChallenge2025 done from my point of view, just got to add some mud to the track area. Hugely enjoyable to do and great to see what others were doing. Thanks @tomjmegan.bsky.social!

A bit of car stuff, I always wondered what the battery of our EV looked like. It looks like this. Big old unit.

This isn't my festive tank challenge tank, just a little practice one.
I've attempted Creighton Abrams Thunderbolt VII in 15mm. I can't seem to find a picture of THE tank but there are a lot of models which I assume are based on something more than pure guesses.
Anyway, not too bad.

I had to do a lot of color correction because the original photo was riddled with color problems, but I really liked the composition. These are soldiers from the 3d Bn, 187th Inf, 101st Abn Div, in III Corps, S. Vietnam, in the summer of 1968. Captures those quiet interludes between the chaos.
