I literally do not want a DIME of taxpayer money building a billionaire's stadium until every kid in Illinois has three tasty and nutritious meals, comprehensive health care, a great school, and a safe and secure place to live.

Hey @wutrain.bsky.social, @ruthzee.bsky.social—a 32-year-old held on $2500 bail was beaten to death by COs in your city's jail last Sunday.

Thank you to @clrhenrysantana.bsky.social for this statement (bsky.app/profile/clrh...).

Where are yours? Where is your outrage?

So let me get this straight:

More members of Congress voted for MTG's bill to criminalize trans people than for the war powers resolution to stop an illegal imperialist war.

Toad thought about giant sunflowers. He thought about tall oak trees. He thought about high mountains covered with snow.

Don't say "it will die in the senate"

Say "I will kill it in the senate"

And then call them. It takes so few calls, comparatively, to make it feel like a wave crashing over them. We need to be the wave, again and again.

I had to watch Alabama's ban on gender affirming care for minors go into effect. It impacted multiple people in my life. It is cruel beyond words.

Pick up the phone. Call all of your reps. Don't tell me it won't matter--I call Tommy Tuberville. EVERY FUCKIN' TIME. I won't gift them silence on this.
This is possibly the most significant attack on trans rights in this country yet, and I can count the number of posts on my timeline about this on my hands.

If you're trying to dismiss this thinking "It'll die in the senate," DON'T! Sound the alarms now!
Bluesky tonight is neatly divided between trans people and family members appropriately angry and freaking out and everyone else who has barely noticed.

U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer attended a Pentagon prayer service. That inspired her to start her own monthly prayer service.

While I am suspicious of many of the folks attacking NEPA, I do think the climate movement should acknowledge that it really is an enormous impediment to building.

Everyone should read this post -- it's actually a NEPA success story, but my god the resources wasted ...

There never seems to be a good time for anything online lately so I'm just going to throw this out here now:

I am looking for more work! I don't mean writing (though that too, sure!), but in the vein of the work I do for the Le Guin Foundation: organizational, practical, assistant-y, bookish work.

A resurrection story for everyone!
Today is Popsicle's Lazarus day! A story for you all:
I used to be a vet tech and one day a client brought in a kitten they found frozen in a snowbank at the end of their driveway for us to have it cremated.
When we went to put him in a cadaver bag he lifted up his head and meowed.
