Those of us that have taken the oath to defend and protect the constitution and backed it with service of country over politics and self gain know both what’s at stake and how to respond to threats to our freedoms.
I took an oath to defend the Constitution, the rule of law, and our First Amendment rights. Which means I won't let this Administration silence me. Because in the Navy, we don't give up the ship.

As someone who has taken the oath to defend and protect the Constitution—and spent my career responding to threats at home and abroad—I know that our freedoms, our democracy, and our trust in institutions survive only when we actively defend them.
I swore an oath to the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it through 25 years of service and every day since I retired.

Today, I’m thinking of Lewiston, Maine, where two years ago, a night of bowling, corn hole, and catching up with neighbors turned deadly because a dangerous person had a gun. Eighteen people were killed, 13 others were wounded, and an entire community was irrevocably changed.
Two years ago today, 18 people were killed in a shooting rampage at a local bowling alley and restaurant in Lewiston, Maine. Thirteen others were injured in the attacks.
Today and always, our hearts are with the victims, survivors, their families, and the entire Lewiston community.

Along with our democracy, the Clean Water Act faces significant challenges, including the narrowing of federal authority by recent Supreme Court decisions and potential reductions in funding and enforcement capabilities - source pollution and forever chemicals are a real threat.
