received a replacement iPhone 15 Pro Max and set it up clean on iOS 26. wild how different it feels. Fresh battery, fresh setup, zero baggage. way snappier than my 2-year-old unit on the same software. zero lag, great performance, and the battery just keeps going.

wanna know why your iPhone 17 Pro shows dings while your 15/16 Pro barely blinked?

I found a genuinely insightful article comparing aluminum and titanium: weight, heat, rigidity, the works.

I definitely walked away smarter.

iPhone 17 Pro: Aluminum Frame vs. Titanium Frame, Which One Is Better?
Apple has moved away from the titanium alloy on the iPhone 15 Pro to aluminum again on the frame. For everyday users, this may seem like a minor detail, but for engineers, material scientists, and con...

Here’s to the ones who look up.
The disconnected.
The rebels from consumption.
The troublemakers for the algorithm.
The calm pegs in the noisy holes.
The ones who see a tool, not a trap.

They're not fond of the feed.
And they have no respect for the endless scroll.

this!
You can be a “car guy” and not like car dependency. You can be a “car guy” and get that too many cars in cities is bad for everyone, including drivers. You can be a “car guy” and be tired of lies & manipulations like “the war on cars.” You can be a “car guy” and know more choice means more freedom.

22.08.25: ditched all my subscriptions today!

why pay monthly for digital stuff I barely use? price hikes prove this model helps companies, not users.

If I want to see a movie -> I pay for it. same for music. same for apps.
just like in the real world 🌎

This could be anywhere, this could be everywhere.
It’s REALLY important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against downtown bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of the evidence that they are better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Bike-lanes mean business.

My #WWDC25 takes:

1) Liquid glass is beautiful but a UX nightmare
2) Free on-device LLM access for developers could give iOS a huge advantage
3) Promoting ICE (F1 & Aston Martin) clashes with Apple's green image
4) iPadOS is closer to macOS now (-> but honestly, just use a Mac)

Had a chat with adidas support for a return label and the conversation was oddly in-between—a bit bot-like, a bit human, but it worked. Didn’t need a real person to get what I wanted.

I suspect they’re using Salesforce’s Agentforce now. Anyone else notice customer service getting more “hybrid”?

ich sehe, dass man vorher Hörbücher auf #Spotify konsumieren konnte, allerdings wurde das Angebot mE deutlich verbessert:

- eigenständiger Bereich inkl. Suche
- erweiterte Funktionen, wie Lesezeichen, Sleeptimer etc
- Erweiterung des Katalogs

Spotify hat quasi BookBeat integriert, kostenlos.

I wrote about China's climate policy.

Did you know that China has enacted the most comprehensive climate policy in the world?

Well, it has — because it's positioning itself as global hegemon for the climate-changed future.

Trump's climate denial is only a stupid, tragic assist to that end.

Remember this picture, & others like it, every time you hear someone in your city say "we're not Amsterdam."

This was #Amsterdam in the 1970s.

Many of the cities we admire made better choices regarding cars in the past. and are still making better choices today.

Better choices instead of excuses.
