I’ve been taking Buffy to vet for underwater treadmill for the past month to help her lose weight and help her arthritis. She’s up to 20 minutes, which is walking half a mile. She’s going better than some of the dogs.

It’s not lazy to rest.

It’s not wrong to prioritize your health and well being.

Capitalism and ableism have trained us to view slowing down as a failure.

We treat disabled people, children and the elderly as expendable.

We assign worth based on productivity.

It’s wrong. We all have value.

I tested positive for a week. I live in Midwest, so this was during the extreme heat. I’m as current as I can be on vaccine and boosters. I usually get booster in Sept, but I’m checking with my regular on my options since I’m 38 and healthy. My mom has MS/RA, so I try to be on top of these things.

I got COVID near end of July (it was my second time having it). I had a few people say to me, “It’s still a thing?” It’s like, yes, it is.

"The theory landed in the public consciousness at the right moment. A simple idea that sounded like science, it soothed a public seeking answers just as the world was returning to a semblance of normality. And it served a policy function, allowing governments to focus on economic recovery."

Folks, for every $1 invested in this nutrition education program, $10 is saved in long-term healthcare costs. Cutting programs that feed kids and families and help make sure folks eat and live healthy is bad public policy and, frankly, just plain stupid.

Weingarten: Their attacks on public education are relentless and why? Because they fear knowledge. Why do they fear teachers? They fear us because we teach critical thinking… their brand of greed, power, and privilege cannot survive in a democracy of diverse educated citizens

As governor, I've always promised I'll fight to protect LGBTQ kids and families with every tool and every power that I have. I will never stop keeping that promise.
