Every Republican evangelical Christian I knew from the 1990s until 2016 would have identified as anti-fascist and often spoke about the Holocaust and how they would’ve fought the Nazis and genocide. Almost all of them today now support Nazis and genocide, and believe anti-fascists are “terrorists.”

This video is absolutely excellent and you should watch it.

One point really stands out: Genocide does not happen overnight. It takes a framework—authoritarianism, dehumanization of targeted groups, and international abandonment.

Seems clear this is what the Trump regime is building toward.

These ICE agents in Chicagoland are exactly the kind of people who go door to door and massacre thousands of families like we saw in Rwanda or we are seeing still now in Gaza. There is no limit to the violence they will perpetrate when provided an opportunity.

Let's hope this holds for Chicago too, but, regardless, the fact remains that we cannot put our hope for defeating fascism in the courts. The Supreme Court has made clear that it is siding with fascism, and it's only a matter of time until law is bent to Trump's will.

Wrote an essay this weekend from Chicago with Black Hawk helicopters flying overhead night and day and where my friends, patients, elected representatives, and neighbors are being assaulted in their homes, in hospitals, and on the streets by federal agents acting with total disregard for law.

Imaging post-op showed numerous insufficiency microfractures in the spine. I blame the accelerated osteoporosis on COVID. Lazy clinicians call it old age. Just think of the millions of other undiagnosed cases of #longCOVID out there just like this

Trump’s troops in Portland will very likely target unhoused people in the city first, deploying violence against encampments. Defend your neighbors, including and especially your most vulnerable neighbors living in tents, struggling with addiction, etc. This where it starts.
