I do worry for myself.
But I am vastly more worried about marginalized people, who have been directly villainized. Trans people, LGBTQIA people, immigrants, people with disabilities, chronically ill people, ethnic minorities and more, all explicitly targeted.

Related to this, a question I often ask my imperfect, cranky self is "What would the *better* version of me do here?" and then I fucking do that, internally whining all the way that the better version of me is a real pain in the ass. But cosplaying as the Better Scalzi does eventually pay off.
