There’s definitely a timing element to this as well, though - Korean media was way more niche across the board until like the last 10-15 years, J-Pop was bigger before that

Living in an older, ageing democracy saps the spirit. The desire to address the challenges of the day (outside of pensions) seems weak, almost absent. The short-termism hurts domestically and puts the nation at risk of invasion, and those most responsible for it may not live to see the consequences.

Finally made the jump after watching the Seventh Seal and realising my mood was still higher than whenever I'm on the bird app. I'll keep tabs on it but expect this to be a permanent move.
