LSU is paying its previous football coach over $50 million NOT to coach there while likely guaranteeing Kiffin something approaching double that, all while having an academic hiring freeze and budget cuts across the board. What is the purpose of a university (rhetorical)?
SOURCES: Lane Kiffin is expected to accept LSU's offer to become the Tigers next head coach. Kiffin is set to meet with his Ole Miss team this morning at 9 AM CT. As we reported yesterday morning, LSU has been very confident it was going to land Kiffin. www.nytimes.com/athletic/684...

Senator Kelly is correct.

Plus a Public Service Announcement:

KEY section of Department of Defense's Law of War Manual is 18.3.2.1.

The VERY rule on the "requirement" to refuse illegal orders gives as its paradigmatic example of what is "clearly illegal:
"orders to fire upon the shipwrecked."

Hey has alleged free speech crusader Bari Weiss said anything about the Trump Administration posting a media enemies list on federal government websites?

I'm really glad to see someone like Kelly finally saying this. bsky.app/profile/atru...
Mark Kelly: "This president, when he says things like 'third world countries,' what is he really saying? I think what he's saying is he doesn't want brown people in our country. And that's disturbing. It's un-American."

DeSantis has been a disaster for Florida in so many ways, but one thing that flies under the radar is how completely UF's football program has disintegrated since he became governor.

Going from Urban when he took office to Sumrall in 2025 and hiring Dave Caldwell is intentional sabotage.

This is straightforward criminal contempt.
KARL: Did you know about the judge's order when you issued your order for the planes to continue?

KRISTI NOEM: This is an activist judge. We comply with all federal orders that are lawful and binding.

In November alone, Trump's been exposed for (among other things) being aware of and likely involved in Epstein's crimes, ordering mass murder of civilians in international waters, and pardoning a drug lord, oligarchs convicted of massive financial crimes, and anyone who committed voter fraud in '20.

WHOA. Trump says he will pardon Juan Orlando Hernandez, who once said that he wanted to “shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos.” He had people killed as part of his narco-trafficking ring, which he at times operated directly out of his presidential office.

Weather it’s Joe Biden pardoning kids who were caught with a couple ounces of weed or Donald Trump pardoning the Honduran president who smuggled in 400 tons of cocaine, both presidents were soft on drugs.

The only reason to go kill the survivors and lie about it is because you knew the boat wasn’t carrying drugs
5/ Administration explanation to Congress seems to be a bold-face falsehood: claiming double-tap strike was to clear debris, not to kill survivors.

"That explanation has prompted frustration among some members of Congress who say they believe the Pentagon was deceptive."

It should go without saying, but the president has no authority to do this, and anyone reporting the story needs to say as such.

Wild to see Whelan say this, but to be clear the OLC's immunity powers are fake anyway. The "golden shield" idea was made up to justify rampant criminality in the GWBush years, then adopted by Holder to excuse Obama's inaction. It's not in the Constitution, statute, or precedent. It's not the law.
Does Pete Hegseth have a "golden shield" against prosecution in the form of a DOJ OLC opinion? Ed Whelan thinks not.

Trump is falling apart in real time. He's vulnerable, he knows he's vulnerable, and this is a moment for Democrats to take advantage of his obvious weakness and desperation.
Trump asserts he can reverse/void hundreds of executive actions by Biden, which may include pardons.

The worse things get for Trump, the more he and his cult lean into their basic foundation as a violent right-wing extremist group built on xenophobia, bigotry, racism, sexism, and white supremacist bitterness.

When I was a kid, my dad was in a car accident that has caused decades of medical issues. Navigating the American health insurance and treatment complexes was a constant struggle.

My parents recently moved to Berlin, and the entire process of getting treatment and medication is just so much better.

good work guys you picked a fight in which Dems can stand up out of their permanent defensive crouch and go “our guy is a fucking astronaut and you’re an alcoholic tv host”
Gallego to Hegseth: "You will never ever be half the man that Sen. Kelly is. You, sir, are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from the president shows how big of a coward you are. I can't wait until you are no longer the secretary of defense."
