I hope New Yorkers will challenge Mamdani about this. Too often, people feel they need to be absolutely for or against a politician — ignoring their missteps or throwing them out with the bathwater. You can like and/or believe in someone and still challenge them to deliver on their promises.

“Is there a technology the left is excited about?”

High-speed rail! MRNA vaccines! New cancer treatments! Solar and wind energy collection! Better and longer-range EVs! That wood that's harder than steel! New apples! Fibermaxxing! Buldak Swicy ramen! Muppets! Muppets are too a technology, shut up!

why won't lefties embrace a panopticon of nonconsensual surveillance and monitoring, "efficiency," algorithmic propaganda, faux art slop, and mass job replacement that also has the little side benefits of torching the planet and hoovering up natural resources
is the problem really that lefties aren't enthusiastic about technology, or is the problem that "technology" has broadly lost its valence as an apolitical and universally positive force in public life, and must now be re-justified through a culture war lens?

This is a very dumb question and the answer is obviously no, he can’t.
BARTIROMO: Could the president just implement an executive order to get the SAVE Act across the finish line going into the midterms?

REP. MARK HARRIS: That's a great question. I don't know the answer to that, quite frankly.

Then the City Council should be loudly advocating for the wealth tax that Hochul has been blocking rather than targeting the mayor who’s trying to fix the budget fiasco Adams left behind
On @spectrumnewsny1.bsky.social's "The Rush Hour," Finance Chair Linda Lee spoke about the Mayor's Preliminary Budget and expressed concerns about increasing property taxes to close the budget gap.

I don’t disagree with this but I wish the discourse around party loyalty was just as aggressive and critical when it comes to statistically more disloyal “moderate” voters and progressive/left candidates.
You'd *still* rather have Fetterman in the Senate than Oz.

You'd WAY rather have Cortez Masto than Adam fucking Laxalt, who's insane.

Corey Booker? Are we pretending he's a problem now?

Newsom is a slime - and still a better governor than Brian Dahle would've been

THINK! CRITICALLY!
No, let’s say the quiet part out loud:

Vote Blue, No Matter Who itself has been a failure of a test. Very clearly, we need to better evaluate politicians we’re supporting blindly.

John Fetterman, Graham Platner & his tattoo, Catherine Cortez Masto, Corey Booker, GAVIN NEWSOM?!?

Think! Critically!

The unreported side of this @gothamist.com story is the NYPD has been clogging arraignments with hundreds of low level arrests that by law should be desk appearance tickets. It’s part of a continued NYPD violation of the mandatory appearance ticket law without judicial consequence.
Subway crime is up. The NYPD blames the cold weather.
In the first five weeks of 2026, major crimes reported on the subway system increased 17%.

It is unconscionable that Democrats haven’t been introducing articles of impeachment regularly. Pirro and anyone else involved in the unethical failed sham prosecution of Kelly, Slotkin, and other Democrats should be impeached and disbarred.
Appalling: During Trump's effort to indict Dems for the video warning against carrying out illegal orders, one of their lawyers asked prosecutors to say what statute was allegedly violated, I'm told. They failed to name one. Then they tried to indict anyway.

This is indistinguishable from Völkisch fascism

Somewhat beside the point, it doesn’t describe either Western, European, or American history. It’s just using “Western Civilization” as a stand in for whiteness.

That last sentence? That's the strategy. They've been pretty open about it.
“They’re trapped in this little confinement cell, a dark cell with no sunlight, with multiple people,” said Shaan Chatterjee, an attorney at New England Immigration Law. “They’re basically torturing people into signing off on their own deportation.”

I wonder what a MacBook would look like that was essentially focused on purely maximizing the efficiency gains since the M1 without squeezing out speed gains that don’t help the average user. How many days could that computer last on a charge?

As we saw during the brief woke era, the country is run by middle-aged white men who are absolutely freaked out by the rise of a young, diverse, liberal workforce with high expectations. AOC is going to trigger *all* of that.

Marco Rubio also feels no guilt or shame about being a spineless worm who will say or do anything, no matter how heinous, if he can ooze himself just a little closer to people with actual power
This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

If you take what Platner claims to be in 2026 at face value, I'd align with him over Mills. But I'd rather one term of Mills than 3+ decades of another likely Fetterman, and I don't think anyone should ignore that he until very recently had a Nazi tattoo, consistently voted GOP, and other red flags.

Yet another day Democrats should be introducing articles of impeachment immediately.

Bondi is a disgrace, just like Trump, Kash Patel, Bovino, Homan, Miller, and the whole rotten administration.
CNN: "Another photograph - these are notes AG Bondi brought to the hearing today. This shows a list of Rep. Jayapal's search history. Lawmakers are allowed to go to a DOJ facility to search unredacted files. We learned from this photo that the searches are apparently being tracked & read by the DOJ"
