How Legal Immigration Became a Deportation Trap
Under Trump, the Homeland Security agency responsible for processing visas and green cards has become a site for easy arrests.

Colbert: “Let’s just call this what it is: Trump’s administration wants to silence anyone who says anything bad about Trump on TV because all Trump does is watch TV. He’s like a toddler with too much screen time. He gets cranky and then drops a load in his diaper.”

As we saw during the brief woke era, the country is run by middle-aged white men who are absolutely freaked out by the rise of a young, diverse, liberal workforce with high expectations. AOC is going to trigger *all* of that.

Calling it now: the US political media's treatment of AOC is going to make their treatment of Hillary Clinton or Al Gore look like a model of balance and discretion.
Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

Marco Rubio also feels no guilt or shame about being a spineless worm who will say or do anything, no matter how heinous, if he can ooze himself just a little closer to people with actual power
This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

If you take what Platner claims to be in 2026 at face value, I'd align with him over Mills. But I'd rather one term of Mills than 3+ decades of another likely Fetterman, and I don't think anyone should ignore that he until very recently had a Nazi tattoo, consistently voted GOP, and other red flags.

Trump’s follow up post says he’s going to issue an executive order on voter ID.

“If we can't get it through Congress, there are Legal reasons why this SCAM is not permitted. I will be presenting them shortly, in the form of an Executive Order.”

Yet another day Democrats should be introducing articles of impeachment immediately.

Bondi is a disgrace, just like Trump, Kash Patel, Bovino, Homan, Miller, and the whole rotten administration.
CNN: "Another photograph - these are notes AG Bondi brought to the hearing today. This shows a list of Rep. Jayapal's search history. Lawmakers are allowed to go to a DOJ facility to search unredacted files. We learned from this photo that the searches are apparently being tracked & read by the DOJ"

The damage done to Minneapolis is probably the clearest example of how Trump is simply not like other presidents. Besieging and occupying a city for weeks like that is nearly unheard of
Walz: "The federal government needs to pay for what they broke here. There's going to be accountability on things that happened, but one of them is the incredible and immense cost borne by the people of this state. The federal government needs to be responsible."

The most important thing to remember about Pam Bondi is that she only has her job because as Florida AG she took a bribe to shut down an investigation into Donald Trump.

She will always be a corrupt Trump toady, because that’s the only qualification for success in MAGA world.
You can joke about Pam Bondi’s ridiculous unprofessionalism all you want, but I’m deeply shocked by it: She acts as if she fears absolutely no consequences, convinced that there will be no more political power transfers. — This should shake everyone to their core.

The party of small government orders you to carry government-issued proof of citizenship every time you take your dog for a walk or go to the corner deli for a coffee, or face the risk of being kidnapped off your street and trafficked across the world by masked government agents
Markwayne Mullin defends "show me your papers": "If you're here legally, there's nothing to hide. Most people already are walking around with a government-issued ID, meaning your Real ID or your driver's license. If you go board a train here, you gotta show your ID."

I know politico is running PR for the centrists here, but the reality is that Hochul is a model for self-styled “moderates” who want to grow up (unlike Suozzi) and embrace meaningful progressive values. The left pulled her toward better governance and she won their endorsement.
Why the left decided to embrace, and not fight, Kathy Hochul
Left-flank Democrats Zohran Mamdani and AOC have ambitions that Hochul can help deliver.
