First trip up Tioga Road each year is better than Christmas! Spent the afternoon rambling around Tuolumne Meadows, looking at birds and flowers. I even did a little sketching, which isn't something I ever do out in the wild, but it was kinda fun! #Yosemite #NationalParks #Sketchbook #illustrator

Snapshots of Hetchy Hetchy the weekend before last. This was actually my first time out to Wapama Falls, and I have to say, Hetchy is super, super underrated! The falls were roaring, and we were in wildflower and butterfly heaven! 🦋 #yosemite #yosemitenationalpark #nationalparks #nature

One of my favorite parks so far is Chiricahua National Monument in southeast Arizona! Hopefully I can make it back there soon to visit the coatis! 💕

Interesting cuckoo fact:
Apparently cuckoos lay between 12-22 eggs…all in different nests. Around 20% never hatch.
No wonder their eyes bulge. (Well they do in this drawing).

Parasaurolophus
Ink on Fabriano Medioevalis, 132 × 85 mm.
Drawing in black ink of the hadrosaur, Parasaurolophus, walking over a patch of ferny groundcover. A trio of azhdarchid pterosaurs fly over in the distance. Parasaurolophus is one of the most well known hadrosaurs and has a distinctive, tubular head crest. The drawing is primarily in silhouette, with the white of the paper showing through in details such as the stripy markings on the hadrosaur's body. The artwork is very small and intricate, and is photographed with a penny for scale, together with the traditional Chinese brush used to draw piece.
