I was playing GTA and I shot a guy and he said "ow!" and I realized I'd just hurt a real person with feelings (otherwise he wouldn't have said "ow") and I started crying and uninstalled the game then realized that by doing so I had killed him and I started crying even more and reinstalled the game

an unfortunate irony about this post - and even if you are the staunchest anti-ai critic out there, i think you'd agree - is that some of the most bigoted things are being said to respond to this. copy/pasting phrasing and terminology used by bigots but replacing "dna" with "bits" doesn't make it ok

Once again studying Japanese as I have been since I was 13 and it sure is a lot harder at 32. Looking at a word (say 封筒) and I can feel my brain straining to connect the kanji to the kana to the pronunciation to the meaning, then I get a concussion and pass out because I tried to picture an envelope
