Rahaeli spitting facts as per usual
*sigh* here we go again. Your phone is not listening to everything around you 24/7 for advertising purposes. *If* you have voice activation on for the assistant, the mic is listening for the activation phrase: the processing power for listening for a single specific phrase is much lower.
Do you remember when people were saying "I think my phone is listening to me, i'm getting ads for stuff I spoke about" and people said "They arent listening to you, they're just this good at predicting your interests"?

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

Frightening how as I age I relate to different characters in Love Actually. I remember being young and relating to Jack and Judy and am dreading the day I relate to Joe the manager.

"There is almost no proof that Vance is responsible for the death of Pope Francis. All we know is that the vice president met with the pope, and a few hours later, the pope was dead. To draw a line between those two facts would almost definitely be a little bit premature."
Getting Ahead of It: JD Vance Almost Definitely Didn’t Kill the Pope
Let’s make one thing very clear: So far, there is almost no proof that JD Vance is directly responsible for the death of Pope Francis. All we know ...

Hell yes
The biggest thing we need to do is let people know that the protests are FUN. Yelling fuck the man is fun. You will meet fun people.

We also need to make them more fun. Bring grills like the French. Bring instruments like it’s Mardi Gras. Give people a reason to spend their weekend in the streets.

"This is a big problem that the administration has broken these laws and not admitted any sort of fault..more attention paid to what happened, how prevalent it is, and what the administration is actually going to do about it."

I am loving all the storylines in @scalzi.com’s “When the Moon Hits your Eye.” I’m hoping they tie together in the end so it can be the “Love, Actually” of the moon turning to cheese genre.

If you’re okay with a woman being snatched off the street for free speech and peaceful protest and detained with no due process …you have fully lost the plot on what AMERICA is supposed to be.

Casey: There’s this whole mentality that MAGA has painted—like you’re either MAGA or you’re, you know, drinking soy lattes or whatever.

But there are a lot of people who are just like, “We’re just regular people—we don’t want a dictator, we don’t want to see people’s benefits ripped away..”

I suppose this is one way to get folks off social security.
Today EPA chief Lee Zeldin announced that the agency is rolling back 31 regulations.

He's taking aim at mercury, soot, and toxic pollution restrictions, and federal protection of wetlands.

The EPA will also rewrite rules limiting pollution from fossil-fuel plants and cars, and more.

Holy fucking shit
Since I have defended and supported the WaPo in the months since the election and the infamous pulled endorsement, I feel obliged to say: this is very, very bad. A dear friend at a Post vet says it's the worst thing to happen to the Post in its long history, and I can't argue.
