Is there actually no-one in the UK Library landscape who wants to become Chair of the CILIP LGBTQ+ Network, or are we just not getting the message out.

I can't continue - way to much going on, but without a chair, the network folds... If you've been mulling it over, now is the time to get in touch!

Unfortunately we would not be able to sponsor a visa for this role, but it is open to anyone with right to work in that UK

I'm really excited to announce that I have had my first article published in the @jinfolit.bsky.social! I hope this article sparks conversations about how workplace information literacy is experienced by autistic librarians.📑📑

On social class and academic libraries: it is quality stuff.

Before diagnosis I would at times force myself to read ‘difficult’ books or authors to prove I was capable of it and not as stupid as I felt, due to my ADHD problems with focus and distraction. I thought everyone had the same challenges. 🫣
preater.com
”my ADHD makes it very difficult to read long portions of text (ie books). This, in and of itself, can make it hard to _fit in_ in library culture. I generally have not read the books that my peers have read for leisure reading.” 👀
preater.com
I am not an early career teaching librarian, but as the author observes the “literature about ADHD in librarianship is very limited” and I am happy to see and read anything at all like this.

#AmReading “ADHD and the early career teaching librarian: an autoethnography” by Jocelyn Swick-Jemison. This is very interesting indeed.

Just over one week to the @ciliplgbtq.bsky.social webinar where I'll talk about being an ally to trans, non-binary & gender non-conforming people.

We're a tiny minority under ongoing attack - allies are essential.

Tuesday 27 May, 1-2pm on Teams and open to all!
