In Éirinn is siombal den dilseacht an dath corcra. Tá sé thar a bheith oiriúnach go bhfuil ár n-uachtaráin ag caitheamh an dath seo inniu! Gaeilge abú!

73,000 exemptions from Irish? Nuts. That's exclusion.
I'm not surprised. I was on a webinar with a school who encouraged parents to seek exemptions from Irish, but for their children to continue with Italian! "Irish educators against Irish"?

1. Deireadh a chur leis na díospóireachtaí amaideacha le dúradáin faoi fiúntas na Gaeilge.

2. Cúnamh eacnamaíoch (agus eile) a thabhairt do phobal na Gaeltachta chun maireachtáil ann.

3. Múinteoirí a oiliúint lena theagasc.

English speakers that accept the pronunciation of names like Anaïs and Thibault because they know that despite using a similar alphabet they're French language names but can't grasp the same logic for Irish language names like Siobhán or Eoghan or Caoilfhionn are the worst type of willful eejits.

In Iceland, on Christmas Eve, people give each other books so they can spend the evening drinking cocoa & reading. It’s called, Jolabokaflod, the Christmas book flood. I’ve never been more in love with Iceland than I am right now ♥️♥️

Ok! Hear me out! School holidays! Add a week either side of Cmas holidays and take 2 weeks from the summer hols! Would we benefit more from the extra time in the winter months and flu season with absences up anyway? Would it take pressure and expense off parents in summer?? 🤔🤔🤔

Why the síneadh fada (the accents over #Irishlanguage
vowels) matter:

Órla (name) - Orla (vomit)
Tonóg (a duck) - Tónóg (small-arsed)
Cráic (anus) - Craic (i.e. havin' the craic)
Anás (poverty) - Anas (Anus)
Steámar (stale piss) - Steamar (scrap of)
Cáca (cake) - Caca (shit)
