My favorite story about escapism has to be The Magicians (2015) because it treats the desire itself as value neutral, and then spends seasons slowly and methodically taking it apart and showing us how deeply dangerous escapism is, how it traps us from ever growing up and ever, truly, healing.

one of the most endearing things about lou to me is that he’s a body builder and a model, the son of a body builder and a model. he’s into improv and he’s a very physical actor when called for with impeccable control over his body but his posture is absolute shit. i love one man
