Janetta Powell, a cancer survivor and SNAP recipient in Ohio, on the GOP’s billionaire-first plan to slash food assistance: “If they do that, there’s going to be so many hungry kids out here.”
Trump's 'big, beautiful bill' could decimate SNAP. Food pantries say people will go hungry
If President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill" passes the Senate as-is, nearly 1.5 million Ohioans on SNAP could lose their main source of food.

I'm not in favor of the military parade but there are bigger issues, like immigration that people can't get behind. Does not make sense to me.

Rabbi here: yes people die it is a sad truth but our goal as a society is to make that less likely or painful-unless you are callous and uncaring as well as immoral

If you are starting a statement with no offence but.... Probably should take a moment and really think about how much offence might be caused.

During the pandemic, 5 yrs ago, my son & his partner wanted to get married in our yard. He wore his dad's wedding outfit, she a white dress from the closet, we made a cake, friend gathered some flowers & we ordered takeout. It was simple & incomplete, but the love and the beauty have stayed strong.

Today is an awesome day to call your senators and tell them to vote against the budget bill, and then, if you’re able, kick some money over to groups like Point of Pride, which funds the spectrum of gender affirming care for people who can’t cover it.

Point of Pride provides financial aid and direct support to transgender and non-binary folks in need of health and wellness care.

This is absolutely terrible news.

With the shifting regulatory climate (i.e., antivax ratfuckery), Moderna has withdrawn their application for their eagerly anticipated COVID-flu combo vaccine. This vaccine offered better protection than getting each shot separately.

This a BFD, I’m very sorry to say.

People from Tikvah Fund, Heritage Foundation JEWISH employee, Coalition for Jewish Values, and the Chabad that hosted the very racist Knesset member at Princeton not long ago—

are all now members of the federal government.

No short-term good comes of this.
Trump's new "Religious Liberty Commission" includes an advisor who has argued that non-Orthodox Jews shouldn't be allowed to make religious liberty claims, period.

George Takei knows of what he speaks, his family who were legal Americans were also imprisoned in camps by the US government. We have to speak out.
When the “legal path” leads to a prison cell, we've boldly gone from immigration policy to humanitarian travesty.

Under its new leadership — who spread misinformation throughout the pandemic — the FDA announced it will limit all Covid vaccines to adults over 65 and those with certain medical conditions.

Covid continues to spread and cause harm. This an anti-science move that will kill more Americans.

this was the subject of my sermon this week.
Disabled people are not expendable.

Disabled people are not lazy.

Disabled people are not “choosing” to be sick.

Disabled people deserve healthcare, social supports & accommodation.

These are not controversial concepts. Ableism & health supremacy tell you otherwise.

Fight with us. Fight for us.

My latest: Polls consistently show that 70% of Israelis want to end the Gaza war in exchange for the remaining hostages. In going around Netanyahu to free hostages today, Trump and his team are aligning themselves with the Israeli people against their leader. But how far will they go? Gift link:
