A friend had a Spanish speaking friend who has undocumented family text her before the recent Va governor’s election asking her who she should vote for. There is a news language barrier there but still she hadn’t made the ‘republicans support deporting my family’ connection even as late as this fall

There's still over 1.3 MILLION California ACA enrollees who hadn't *actively* re-enrolled as of 12/27.

This means that unless they *actively* log in & shop around for a plan for 2026 between 12/28 - 12/31, they'll be auto-renewed into their current plan...at the new net premium.

3/2 There are no shortage of reasons to mask, especially if all, and certainly in indoor spaces where food isn't being consumed (hospitals, trains, planes, offices, etc.) bsky.app/profile/mark...
NY is having a bad flu season. More hospitalizations last week than any week on record.

Health authorities are encouraging everyone aged 6mo+ to get the flu vax (it's not too late).

Find a provider here: on.nyc.gov/getvaccinated. You can filter for sites where there's no cost for the uninsured.

Absolutely not the kind of show you can watch glancing at your phone or fast forwarding and get the heart of what’s going on.

Great thread! The Shane and Ilya parts of Heated Rivalry reminded me so much of character based Indy filmmaking where external plot is secondary but you can’t miss a single facial expression or camera choice. Growth arcs are vital. It pared really well with Pluribus in this way.

'....from the mid-2000s to 2022, exposure to the opioid epidemic continuously increased the Republican vote share in House, presidential, and gubernatorial
elections... a one-standard-deviation increase in our measure of exposure led to a 4.5 percentage point increase in Republican vote share'

I really did not like the first episodes this year, although I’d enjoyed all previous years. The incoherence of the military/Eleven and Hopper war and the people the ‘good guys’ were killing and torturing just Icked me out. And the dialogue just came across as mean and repetitive
