people say souls boss patterns are "tough but fair" because you just learn to react to their delay tricks too and you can dodge everything lol. how do you open people up in pvp when they know parry timings for the weapon animations though?

this is literally why i spent 15 years feeling like i just slopped everything while eternally being told that i was actually really hard to beat, and why every character i've played except aigis i was always confused why my "mixups" never worked and people only got hit by weird mids and shit

mhm really good players know all about it and use it and compliment you for doing it but it's like never EVER talked about widely. frame traps, spacing traps, whiff punishes yeah yeah yeah but this is like. this is something else.

I feel like there's a stigma about getting opened up by mids and a kind of a lexical gap talking about timing mix-ups, where like even if you just go a layer above a frame trap like representing a gap to just wait a couple frames and try to punish movement or reset pressure.

i'm watching beta and realizing virtually every problem i've had with kohaku (except defending against top tiers and doing feint loops) is because i haven't thought about this enough in any context except shield breaking. like lilith, it's all she has. the feint low is only a timing mixup too
