MAHA update:

The EPA is starting to allow the use of pesticides containing PFAS on food.

The move is part of an effort to roll back the regulation of what are called "forever chemicals" because they don't break down easily in the environment.

LOL dude what? Your take is blaming Sheel’s lawsuit for the sale?

Unless you know something non-public, the suit remains open. Even if they needed to buy her out, there are tons of paths to resolve ownership disputes that don’t involve selling the franchise. 1/
Absolutely not. Peter's widow sued because she was not put in charge; but MLB said she wasn't qualified to run a baseball team. The other stakeholders don't have the cash on hand to buy the widow out, and she doesn't have the money to buy them out. Hence the team has to be sold to settle to case.
Seidler family looking to sell the Padres, almost two years to the day after Peter Seidler’s death. (Tomorrow is the anniversary)

Is there any way to see this other than confirmation that Peter’s brothers didn’t share his love for the city and team, and only were ever really in it for the money?

Still thinking about this story. Imagine how cooked your brain has to be on Fox News -- how terrified you have to be, every day in your isolated suburban castle -- to start *shooting* when you see brown people at your door, before the door is even open. We're such a nation of terrified cowards.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

If you can’t keep your caucus in line on fighting for healthcare, a moral obligation and an 80/20 issue.. you have no business in leadership.
America is in the midst of a Republican-made health care crisis—a crisis so severe, so urgent, and so devastating for American families that I cannot support a continuing resolution that fails to address it.

I am voting NO.

One of the talking points I keep seeing from Democrats is that part of the deal is that it will "ensure federal workers receive back pay" but that's the existing law!

That's not something you've won in negotiations. That's just the letter of the law. You don't get to claim that as a win.

As Democrats get their votes lined up and talking points ready, it’s important to remember they’re working together to lessen the fallout from their angry base.

In March (see below), Schumer voted to advance the bill but didn’t *technically* vote for final passage.

It’s dishonest bullshit.
"But Schumer and seven other Democrats who voted to advance the bill earlier Friday voted against passing it."

"Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (New Hampshire) was the only Democrat who voted for the bill. King also voted for it. Sen. Rand Paul (Kentucky) was the only Republican who voted against it."

Oh for the love of

Schumer's DC office number: 202-224-6542

Gillibrand's DC office number: (202) 224-4451
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
