i'm going to have to disagree on grounds that outside the cover for marketing & being cool, art doesn't feel necessary in rule books if it's laid out well & exercises good text formatting & hierarchy.

i remember 3.5 rule books being walls of 5pt text, i don't think having art would have helped.
