As I was speaking on panels at Labour conference last week I began to describe the Britain I know exists and love. In the end I gave it a name: Mr Blobby Patriotism

And I’ve written about it for @renewaljournal.bsky.social here bsky.app/profile/rene...

The Pride in Place programme introduced by the government last week is a massive opportunity to rebuild our communities, invest in community assets & give power back to local people & community leaders. Investing in spaces for people to connect is absolutely vital.

As ever, Nick Lowles is spot on.

When it comes to taking on the far right, progressives haven’t got a moment to waste in building a vision of togetherness we can unite the country behind.

🚨 BREAKING: Communities run through the just-announced Strategic Priorities for Great British Energy.

This Government is delivering on its commitment to roll out clean, green, community-owned energy. 🌱

Great work by @transenvuk.bsky.social.

Taxation hasn't kept up with the trend towards larger SUVs. Large SUVs are worse for the planet & create more air pollution, while being far more dangerous to other road users & marginalising space for others.

It's about time something was done about it.

Every great Labour Government has expanded access; whether that be CROW in 2000, the Countryside Act in 1968 or the National Parks and Countryside Act in 1949.

This Government should follow suit; bringing in Scottish style right to roam, a right to wild camp and a right to swim. A lasting legacy

Labour MPs today call for new legislation to extend a right of responsible access to more English landscapes, and for the right to swim and wild camp to be enshrined in law
