College freshman today were 6 years old in the 2012 election.
A student of mine (age 20) told me after class that he appreciates when I explain how US politics and media were different before, because the Trump era is all he’s seen.
This is what young Americans think politics is. It’s normal now.

I think that folks aren't seriously thinking about the implications of young adults who know nothing other than a country which has normalized MAGA politics, God help us all.

His politics are irrelevant to his status as a folk hero. People don't care what he thought, they care about what he did because it spoke to their own needs and anger and frustration. They aren't looking for a new pundit, they're looking for action.
