I feel so immensely sad today (as do we all). This year has been a lot, possibly the worst year that I've ever experienced both generally and in a personal sense. I'm looking forward to some down time over the holidays, games and good food, and raising a glass or two to 2025 eating a bag of phalli.

What skill did you master that you will never, ever use again?
Developing and printing photos in a darkroom. Also manual retouching with dyes.

I'm unlikely to ever work for Dairy Queen again but I did master the DQ Curl for the top of the ice cream, to the point that when I used a different soft-serve ice cream machine a decade later I automatically did the curl and then stood there stunned by muscle memory. :)

One thing you’re irrationally afraid of? Grasshoppers jumping on me. Or just being near me. Or just existing. Fun memories of my daughter having a pet gecko when she was small, and accidentally dropping the container of crickets in her room. Crickets, all over the house. Burn it aaaall down.

Haven't posted much lately because of illness and other boring things. The school that P works for was closed for most of the week due to a third of the kids and many of the teachers being out sick, so hopefully things are better this week.

Plumber confirmed that the fuses blowing yesterday was due to the water heater and we need a new water heater. I did find the fuse for the water heater itself so we're good heating wise
(last night we had no light or heating in half the flat, which is less fun).
