Truth. I qualify and I'd take a legit 40 per hour writing job right now to help cover bills. Im working on a huge novel project but it'll take me a year for the first book so even if everything goes perfectly with agent hunt plus selling it, I won't see money from this year of work til 2028ish
I qualify.

I'm obviously not going to go work for Grok, but boy, I certainly would like one of the writing jobs that everybody in the comments is being so sarcastic about making more than that, bc I tell you what, I sure as fuck am not making more than that and you guys KNOW how much I write.
X is hiring a creative writing specialist at $40 an hour to make Grok better at writing and a true LOL at the qualifications

A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

The arrests of Don Lemon, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lundy are unacceptable and a clear violation of the Constitution.

This is a dangerous abuse of power that threatens the rights of every single American.

They must be released immediately.

All the reviews that have crossed my feed about the new Bridgerton season have panned it... but like.. I just watched the eps out so far and it is delightful. Also made me cry like 3 times already. I dunno what the critics are smoking

Just a reminder that at least 242 journalists were killed by Israel since October 7.
Palestine was the test to see what they could do. Not standing in solidarity with Palestinians was not only a major moral and ethical failing it was a strategic mistake that everyone will pay for.

These are concentration camps, which they are using our tax money to buy and operate.
BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.

Seattle has had a single stair building code for 50 years but has failed to leverage that tool through planning and zoning.

They’re still stuck in the “single family plus arterial density” trap .
my this is just so visionless and depressing

not even a half block depth of apartments on most of these arterials.

this is not how you make a walkable, livable, affordable city

Don Lemon being arrested, along with the arrests of people in Minneapolis who’ve been trained as observers, amid a negotiation on a DHS bill where you able to just pocket a CR as a reprieve is a good demonstration of why a hardline against funding here is not only morally necessary but smart as well

The thing to understand here is that the DOJ tried to get a warrant for his arrest, failed, appealed the decision, failed there, too and they... arrested him anyway?

Max's thread has some good info:

bsky.app/profile/maxk...
The Trump admin already failed to get an arrest warrant on him—magistrate judge refused so DOJ went to appeals court, prompting that letter from the chief district judge torching the DOJ, and appeals court denied too—so God knows what this new one is, or if they even bothered to get a warrant.
Don was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles.

"Our standing rule is: If one of us brings up using GenAI in any of our work, then it's safe to assume we've been assimilated by The Thing and should be burned alive by Kurt Russell," said a game design consultant in the US.
Over 50% of game developers now think generative AI is bad for the industry, a dramatic increase from just 2 years ago: 'I'd rather quit the industry than use generative AI'
The latest GDC survey also found that managers are more likely to use generative AI than their employees.

Nonsense. It's not possible to steal AI technology. I know this because Google's own LLMs are built using a complete copy of my legal blog, and that's somehow not stealing because, as Google says, a complete copy of my legal blog is both trivial and utterly essential for their tech to work.

"Ethical AI" does not exist. There is no reality where you can have generative AI that's "ethically trained". There are ZERO AI models trained ethically, and there will never be any.

The term has been made up by people who want a pass on using AI. You don't get that pass, slop peddlers.

MZB. I started writing because I wanted to sell to S&S. I found so many fav authors from her anthologies, and the Darkover books kinda raised me.
When I first heard (after her death) about the abuse, I literally cried.
I sold and gave away all my books, including the signed ones.
Question for the Skyline: What was your HARDEST "cancel"?? Like the actor/singer/athlete that was the hardest to drop.

I feel like it's always people I don't fw getting canceled so it's never really a loss.

The hardest one was maybe TI because I actually liked multiple albums by him.
