HOLY SHIT.
This is unreal. An AUSA talking like that in open court is about as close as you can come to a total breakdown. Never heard of anything like it.

The Fourth Amendment is not a non-starter, jerkwads.
Rep. Mark Harris: "Some of these things are nonstarters. Having judicial warrants? To me, hat's a nonstarter. Being able to make off their mask, putting them at risk? That's a nonstarter. I would say anything that's going to hamstring the work of ICE, that's just not going to go anywhere."

“I was so impressed and kind of honored to be in that crowd…Because nobody panicked. Nobody ran. Nobody was trampling each other. Everybody got out together. We made room for the pregnant, we made room for the elderly, we made room for children.”
ICE tear gassed a bunch of children on Saturday. This was a massive escalation of force. They were shooting tear gas at the back of the crowd, it took these unmasked people maybe 3-5 minutes in the cloud of tear gas to escape in without trampling. www.theverge.com/policy/87278...

This is one of the most important cases that galvanized Black people in the late 40s through the 1950s. Almost every major Black leader had a comment about it. It is also one of the most successful defense committees that was organized in the 20th century. Almost no one knows about it today.
On this day in 1948, an all-white jury sentenced a Black woman and two of her teenage sons to death for killing an armed white man in self-defense.

If you use the slop machine, you are not a writer or artist. You are a slopagandist colluding in mass theft from real artists.

Thread up, and especially this part. No one in a creative field should be using gAI in *ANY* way. You don't get to sell out other creatives just b/c it's not "your" field. No gAI writing, art, narration, music, etc. Just. Don't.
The use of generative AI in one form of the creative process is an implicit support for its use in all forms of that process. Solidarity is not conditional.

fun fact the military didn't look into this at all when they were studying tear gas back in the 1960s

but in addition to stuff like irregular periods, there's evidence tear gas exposure can be linked to miscarriage

more than enough data to suggest caution

Ireland has dismantled its first commercial wind farm to make way for a step-change in scale. Each new turbine generates more power than the entire 1992 Bellacorick site, illustrating how 3 decades of innovation have compressed land use while multiplying output. buff.ly/goiabIO
