I have never had a fresh salsa that tastes better than a good jar. I will die on this hill.

This is my third year watching the Oscar Nominated Short Films, and I love it each year. What I don't know is why. My fear is that I love international film perspective and pacing, but I have to admit my attention span is too short to cognitively stick it out through an entire film.

Doing my first Genius Bar appointment tonight for a malfunctioning apple laptop. On the upside, this is my first malfunctioning laptop since 2014. On the downside, this is a stupid fucking system to mix sales staff and tech support.

On my long adventure retreat hit my first day of not wanting to do adventure even though it's 80 out. Going to see a movie then go for a drive and maybe bike a few miles. Maybe I'll want to do it when I get to the biking.

In his opening speech, Speaker Mike Johnson just recited a long prayer attributed to Thomas Jefferson.

As @jackjenkins.me and others have pointed out, Jefferson never said any of this: www.monticello.org/research-edu...

I’m not a vegan, but it’s shocking that the most popular argument against vegans is actually “wah wah im a baby you’re so annoying wow you are sooo annoying shut up”

I didn't have a nemesis in 2024, and I think it limited me. This year I've decided to proactively appoint my nemesis Jeanine Herbst.

What a lovely piece! Strong connection to much of this experience back during my twenties. Worth your reading time.
Trigger warning: religious deconstruction.

This is hard for me to say, but it gets easier each time I say it…I am not religious. I don’t subscribe to the Southern Baptist doctrine I was raised in. I can’t call myself a Christian anymore…

Gorgeous stained glass piece made by my friend @stonkers.bsky.social, inspired by the medieval Old Gaelic poem, Pangur Bán. The poem was written by a monk who would work tirelessly at his studies as his cat, Pangur Bán, faithfully hunted mice. www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazi...
