My kid got the 🌟Top Gardener🌟 award for the school garden-to-table program 🌱
They had no academic awards but had school values awards instead. I’m into it! Contrast that with the “honours lists” of my schooling years in the 🇵🇭. If you got over 90% grade average you were on the list. 75% under? Fail.

I think I offended someone when I said that in my twilight years & cognitive decline I might be open to using LLMs. But for now I’ll keep using brain because I quite like it & I’ve worked hard to keep it sharp 😆

It’s as if people simply don’t know how to praise generative AI, even for uses for which other resources are plentiful, without a hint of threat. It’s not: “it’s great for this specific thing.” It’s always: “Use it or else.” Learn to Code! 2.0.

TIL about a memorial ceremony in Iceland in 2019 to mark the end of a glacier, changing the place name from Okjökull to Ok (jökull = glacier). Uncompromising wording on the bronze plaque:
"This is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it".
