THE DEATH SPANCEL | Katharine Tynan

“Come to me, a lonely ghost, / Out of the night and rain.”

“An important work of literary recovery . . . whatever her theme, Tynan’s lovely, musical sentences carry a hint of Irish mist and melancholy.” – Washington Post

This 1930 Lynd Ward panel from MADMAN’S DRUM embodies my constant feelings of disorientation, dread, anxiety, and sorrow at the future we are all losing. Back at work on my book to put the feelings somewhere so I can function.

Okay, so I warned you about this one. Let me walk you though a very small snippet from a letter from H. P. Lovecraft to James F. Morton, dated 26 Feb 1927. Letters to James F. Morton 130.
I deMAND further details. Which volume of letters or essays is it to be found in?

Technically, national socialism never fully disappeared. It just survives in remnants, kept alive by small dispossessed communities of believers who maintain ties to the past, sometimes hidden under a veil of normalcy. Its gospel was once forbidden, but now many ignore the dangers it once presented.
