Trump is trying hand Ukraine to Putin. I don't think it's going to work. He's at 38% approval in the latest polls, the GOP think they're going to lose horribly in the midterms, all the Dems and 2/3 of the GOP support aid to Ukraine.

Every photo I take is done practically with very little digital work, using household items to create special effects like cotton wool for fire & foil for water. Each set is meticulously set up for just the one scene then dismantled so I can set up another scene.

This makes it sound bad, but it's worse. Ukraine is increasing production of current drones, and ramping up new designs. The rate of successful strikes will surely increase, and the next 3-5 months will be terrible for Russia.

Modern camera gear is absolutely amazing. I'm getting started with Micro 4/3, picked up a used Lumix G5 w/ 14-42mm zoom for $200, just scored a 45-150mm zoom for $90, and with auto-focus and in-lens image stabilization it's doing all the hard work for me.

RIP Tom Lehrer. My parents didn't have many records, but they had a couple of Lehrer's, and we listened so many times, and laughed, and memorized most of the lyrics. And I learnt that no matter what awful shit is going down, satire and mockery are good tools to have at hand.

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.
