Here’s something important to know about all of the Republicans who are clapping as Trump attacks Social Security: All of them will be returning to their states and districts next week for congressional recess.

City Paper Shouts out me and my books: "His characters live and breathe with profound honesty even when his narrative borders on the surreal. He’s a masterful storyteller, and you’ll regularly find his short fiction in my syllabi, and in the syllabi of countless other professors across the country."
Spot Lit: Four Local Authors Questioning Societal Norms and Personal Biases
As the White House seeks to control the art we consume, from the Kennedy Center to book bans, these local authors are the voices we need now.

I'm gonna keep reposting examples of people not taking shit because it's important for us to see that you can, simply, reject the shit. Say "Uh... no no no, we will not be tolerating that."
My kid lives in Siddall Hall and sent me these yesterday. First is what was put up by the school, second is the students’ alteration of the administrations’ cowardice.

More than any other quality, what defines broad swaths of my fellow Americans is not apathy, but dishonesty: intellectual dishonesty; emotional dishonesty; spiritual dishonesty. Dishonesty about what we’ve done, about what we’re doing, about what we’re going to do as a people.

Criminalizing... librarians? Really? It's like they fear knowledge.
They're rushing this bill because they know most Iowans will oppose it.

We don't want criminal penalties for librarians.

We don't want the government deciding which books are in our public libraries.

This, in Massachusetts.
Got my first "Violating an Executive Order" and "I'll make sure you lose federal funding" parent threat today for teaching "DEI" books in our upcoming "Liberty and Justice" themed unit. Even in "Blue" Massachusetts we're dealing with this.

Anyway, don't obey in advance, and don't obey later.

Gov Hochul can fire the mayor. She should have done so when the scope and scale of his cascading congenital corruption career was laid out in federal indictments. She waited for him to go to trial. Now that injustice has taken its course she is the only reason he remains in office. Step up Hochul.
