NEW: It’s… another abortion pill lawsuit against the FDA, this time filed by Louisiana and an individual plaintiff, who argue the FDA should reinstate an in-person dispensing requirement for mifepristone.

And if you guess Alliance Defending Freedom might be involved here, you guessed correctly.

As an alum of @tulanesphtm.bsky.social I’m even more disgusted by this firing. This is not the approach to public health they claimed to have when I attended. They touted how many students went on to be in the peace corps, which requires understanding the effects of conflict on public health.

Tulane terminated an academic director after the syllabus she’ helped create for an infectious disease class was rejected by an instructor because it included an academic article about a polio outbreak in Gaza.

Coverage like this is how you Individualize the world into doing nothing about climate change.

The issue here is systemic, manufacturers need to change the inhalers. That will require laws.

The solution is SYSTEMIC.

It is NOT "shame people who use inhalers for their ACTUAL SURVIVAL"

Wiley had over $1.8 billion in revenue last year, but their new CEO decided to replace editorial assistants with AI. Our editor and reviewer profiles didn't even get transferred over from the old system; we've been assigned AI-generated keywords that editors need to "fix" to "improve" the algorithm.

Also, I'm not the first to cover this research study. But apparently I'm one of the only journalists who knows how C14 dates work.

The shoe is dated to "674 +/- 22 years BP." BP is "before present." But C14 "present" is NOT TODAY. It's 1950. The shoe is 674 years plus 75 = 749 years old. 🏺🧪

Even though the demography is clear, the idea that polygamy is unsustainable and is the root of male-vs-male violence is super influential in political science, incel groups (⚠️), and theories about the evolution of monogamy. In the article, we talk through all three sets of discourse (13/14)

If you are a supporter and reader of @contingent-mag.bsky.social one of the biggest things you can do to help us at the moment is get this CFP to the NTT folks in your life. The fracturing of social media has made it very difficult to get the word out esp. to adjuncts and VAPs.
CFP: A Time of Monsters
The monster has been here all along. It is a historical constant that manifests in wildly different ways across time, place, and culture. Whatever form it takes, the monster claws at categories; it un...

South Carolina is attempting to do what Louisiana couldn’t 3 years ago: make abortion a crime punishable by death.

They are also introducing a bill that would ban birth control, force students to watch propaganda videos on it, restrict IVF, & make all info about abortion online & via phone illegal
