Pick ups?

I regularly pick up disposable vapes to salvage their batteries, but this is the first one I've come across that even has an LED display on it. These things are incredibly wasteful for a disposable product, but at least it's a good source of free batteries and USB charging circuitry.

DIY RGB fan conversion I built using some RGB LEDs pulled from some junk LED strips I found on the side of the road. I think it actually didn't turn out too badly 🙂

Random curbside VCR find. Panasonic NV-SD225. A basic 2-head machine by the looks of it. It does power on, but I don't have any tapes here to test it. The VFD display is extremely dim, which makes me think this thing has a lot of hours on it.

My bike had 20 km on it when I bought it, and it's now at 3020 km. So it's done 3000 km in my ownership. For an obscure Chinese bike that gets subjected to absolutely horrendous roads every day, I think it's done pretty well.

@hubnut.bsky.social I spotted this Rover 25 with UK plates at a local supermarket here in Margate, South Africa. Certainly a long way from home!

As the internet becomes increasingly fake, I think we're gonna see a return to VHS & analog video because it's got a distinct fingerprint. I'm increasingly seeing a push for art that leans into being messy for authenticity's sake. "That was recorded on VHS, of course it's real".

Not only designed for business. It looked like it meant business.

This stupid boomer meme both amuses and annoys me whenever it pops up in my Facebook feed. Literally some of my earliest memories are when I used to sit up at night and watch my dad play DOS games on his 386.
