Last night, the Bill to Ban Fox Hunting was voted down by 124 TDs (with 24 for it).
The Bill failed because FF, FG, and SF TDs all voted to keep in line with the party whip. This is not the end of the campaign. The IWT supports the growing movement to ban this cruel blood sport.

What a total disgrace that Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael, and, above all, Sinn Féin voted this down.

Very few want this terribly cruel colonial sport, which sees hordes of horses, riders, and dogs rampage across the countryside.

The wishes of the majority were ignored. Again.

Qesser Zuhrah and Amu Gib have been on hunger strike for 46 days.

They are at serious risk of death.

They are in prison because the UK would prefer to lock up young opponents of mass murder than stop facilitating genocide.

The Home Secretary must intervene.

Rather than reflecting on why they got things wrong during the election campaign, a distressingly significant section of Ireland's commentariat instead have gone into an active denial of reality, publishing "analysis" with zero relationship with the real world. This is a self-made crisis for media!

Speaking to members of the public, they connected with what they felt were the Independent TD's compassion, decency, and warmth.

They believed that she represents something good about who we are and who we want to be.

In a job where the functions are largely dictated by the Constitution, Irish people have, in modern times, seen the role as an aspiration of what we believe we are

Our 10th president, Catherine Connolly, won more votes with her presidential campaign than any other single electoral candidate in Irish political history.

That's really fucking something, no matter what the spoil the vote crowd, your David Quinns etc will no doubt tell you

Not only is this on track to be the highest FPV% ever in a Presidential election, it's also going to be the highest raw vote total in a Presidential election. Historic performance from Catherine Connolly. #Áras25

The video of this is terrifying stuff. The poor kids should not have to witness this kind of madness.

Also while not every piece of shit is a transphobe, all transphobes are pieces of shit

114 children made homeless in a month, and the Minister responsible is telling us there's no way to stop this.

That's 114 kids who will be back to school in a month. Darragh O'Brien's real role in the last Government was to normalise these updates, and I guess on that metric he was a success
