I’m kinda crazy about this photo.
When in Vancouver, take the $3 ($5 during the daytime) harbour cruise, aka the SeaBus journey from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay and back. You won’t regret it. https://flickr.com/photos/bazzy/54989215720/

This oddly bureaucratic piece of news means several things for The Tyee.

First, we can give tax receipts to our Tyee Builders.

Second, it’s validation about that our non-profit exists solely to produce journalism.

Third, it marks a milestone on a long journey. 📰 #CdnMedia

Can I extend my Christmas break until late March, too?
Ford government extends Ontario legislature’s Christmas break until late March

Just unreal. Ford has stopped even pretending to run a government. It's all about hiding from the corruption.

Last call for Ontario's opposition parties to get their acts together. #onpoli

We are reading the Statute of Westminster today and reflecting on what it means for us as Canadians. We are the first Statute of Westminster Appreciation Society to our knowledge, and we started in Canada, but of course we recognize that it applied to other parts of the world as well.

Paywall sensitive. What a relief to have a name for the sensation I’ve had for a long, long time.
If you're paywall sensitive, you can read Mia's terrific feature today for free! (But not tomorrow!)
Our first free story is from @miasato.bsky.social:

We have never been so aware of all the things there are to purchase, and the frictionlessness of shopping apps disguised as social media has created an army of voracious buyers. What has this abundance done to us?

I authorize Mayor Chow to negotiate individual day fare capping as well.
Mayor Olivia Chow is introducing fare capping for TTC riders in her upcoming budget. Instead of having to decide whether it makes sense to buy a monthly pass in advance, rides will automatically be free after 47 trips starting next Sept.
