This may sound weird, but it’s apt.

It is also why I think every RPG that costs over $30 gets an emotional response like it’s fifty bucks - that’s the next mental break point after twenty (maybe twenty five) bucks, but $60 is still 50 (though $80 is 100)

COME ON DOWN, STEVE! YOU’RE THE NEXT CONTESTANT ON THE PRICE IS RIGHT!
Can’t believe this is really the cover art for Morrissey’s new album, but it really is. Quite amusing, I suppose.

Great! The right wing wants to stop the hateful rhetoric. I'm all for that!

Them first.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

FUN FACT! "Love Will Tear Us Apart" was recorded at the same studio as "Love Will Keep Us Together" (Not the Captain & Tenille version, but the original Neil Sedaka one. Both recordings were made at Strawberry, the Stockport studio owned by 10cc)

I just watched him in one of my Walter Hill faves, Southern Comfort. Such a vivid presence; he'll be missed.
We are sad to learn that T.K. Carter has passed away at the age of 69. Carter is best known in the horror world for playing the character Nauls in John Carpenter's The Thing (1982). His credits also include Space Jam, Punky Brewster, Ski Patrol, and Tony Scott's Domino.

I like Elizabeth’s list other than that St. Vincent seems off to me (she’s 14 years younger than Yorke, whereas Petty was only 3 years younger than Lynne). Maybe Carrie Brownstein? Also, while Springsteen’s a good choice, I like Johnny Cash for that slot
Have been thinking about this for literally two months, and here’s what I’ve got.

Harrison => Dave Grohl
Dylan => Eddie Vedder
Orbison => Bruce Springsteen
Lynne => Thom Yorke
Petty => St. Vincent
The idea of a 90s Traveling Wilburies seems fantastical: Frank Black? Liz Phair? Thom Yorke?

An ice halo, my spouse with her camera, a nearly-but-not monochrome landscape with a rainbow hiding in it... amazing.

That's true. I mentioned Robert Holmes because of the suspicious empty space between "Nation submits an outline for 'Genesis' that's exactly like 'Planet of the Daleks'" and "a near-finished script for 'Genesis' comes out of Robert Holmes' office", but Maloney went ridiculously hard to make it work.

Michael Wisher or David Gooderson or Terry Malloy or Julian Bleach or Joey Price will return as Davros in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY

Every time I watch "Genesis of the Daleks," my first and favorite WHO story, I walk away with more respect for David Maloney
((You may have gathered that I'm not very fond of Terry Nation. I'd simply say that the more I see of his work, the more I respect Chris Boucher. And Ray Cusick. And Douglas Camfield. And Robert Holmes. And BBC design, visual effects, and radiophonics. And anyone else who had to clean up his mess.))

I don’t expect to ever get a Hugo nomination, little yet a win. But I suspect that if I do get one it’ll be this year, for Cuddled Little Vice, and I’d be lying if I said that wouldn’t make me an extremely happy little nerd.

Remember in 2016 and 2020 and 2024, when so many leftists claimed that Trump would be better than Clinton, Biden or Harris, on the grounds that he wouldn’t start “forever wars?”

How’s that working out for us?
