I'm excited to present to you all the launch of Neighbors: A Story about Food and Love.

It's a food blog that is also my first novel!

You can read the first chapter and recipe below, about how this project came to be, and the wonderful collaborators who helped me bring it to life.

Garage remote stopped working and replacement batteries don't do anything so I need to pay for street parking until my building manager gets back to me 🙃

If I didn't have to go to the grocery store and run other errands, I would continue my day of sitting very still on the couch.

I would say that you have to train yourself to focus on the actual people who care about you & who you care about/respect. Also you have to really live into your values. Both of those things will help you weather the opinions of strangers. I think that's different than not giving a fuck.
It takes training and conditioning to not give a fuck what people think. Contrary to popular belief, even if you’re born with the ability society and peer pressure will slowly make you give a fuck. You have to unlearn, recondition, and focus.

Not giving a fuck takes practice. Go practice.

Flight delayed allowed me to watch the asteroid shower from my window so ultimately I didn't mind the late arrival home.

In other words, if you're non-white, ICE/CBP will assume you are a non-citizen until you can prove otherwise, and they won't accept your Real ID as proof of citizenship.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.

[me, sophomore year of college, not studying for finals] why am I too depressed to do anything other than sit in this dorm basement and watch tv?

[the tv in the basement]:
25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

My Airbnb host told us there would be a power outage starting at lunchtime, which apparently means 7am, so my friend and I bought day passes for a thermal spa just so we could shower and use toilets.

The outage is expected to end at 4pm 🙃

seeing some arguments on my tl so let me break down very quickly why gender socialization arguments for trans people are bullshit. i wasn’t “socialized female,” i learned how to do an over the top simulacrum of womanhood because i feared being punished for not being one. that’s a different thing

Something I have to reiterate is that you are being straight up lied to about trans people and our healthcare on an unfathomable scale, this instance reporting is already being torn to shreds by other people commenting, but the frequency of this kind of reporting is astonishing, it's neverending.
You might think from the headline that this is a story about a trans kid suffering medical consequences from a large drug dose but nope! It is just an interview with an estranged father who is angry that his child happily transitioned.

All this Tarantino discourse is vindicating me after I walked out of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and said to my friends, "it's a movie he wrote while jerking off watching his own movies," and everyone thought I went too far in saying it!!!!!

My friend and I saw wisps of the Northern Lights as we drove to the cabin in Quebec and apparently there's a coronal blast today so we'll have a chance to see them even more clearly while we're here.

"Headphone jacks take up too much space for chips, etc. in phones so that's why they did away with them."

Have you considered I do not want more digital bullshit? That maybe, as a person who uses cable headphones for sound quality, would also like to charge my phone when I'm listening to music?
