On my needles - so very close to the end of my Askell shawl, and it is on top of the nearly finished blanket. I am hoping there will be a new swatch by the end of the weekend. #ShowMeYourKnits

It was just cold enough again to put on this sweater I made myself last year as my New Year cast on, and I had forgotten how much I love it. So perfect for like 5 weeks of the year. Yarn is Sandnes garn Poppy. #ShowMeYourKnits

I just finished this hot water bottle, where I was leaning in to the "pink is the coziest colour". Very seasonal for solstice I think. It's fuzzier in person because of the strand of bubblegum mohair. #ShowMeYourKnits

On December 10, 1823, Mary Anning found the first complete Plesiosaurus. The new specimen acquired by the Duke of Buckingham was transported to the Geological Society for its meeting of February 20, 1824. #WomenInSTEM

Perfect timing! I just finished this snow sweater. I think it's giving seasonal, or low-key holiday. #ShowMeYourKnits

I did read this, and then I ordered the book, and I need Sheila Winfarthing to be on Bluesky.
I've removed the paywall permanently from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you won't...

The Village Message Board
Its authenticity was discredited because of his reputation, but also because he was quick with gin at the time and wearing an item of knitwear back to front.

My favourite fluffy knits right now are the Garden Cardigan I made this spring and the Sophie Hood. The cardigan gets daily wear in the current weather; I love the granny vibe the colour gives it, and it feels super fluffy, even if the fluff doesn't show so much in the pic. #ShowMeYourKnits

This is just inexcusable. No one on the production team looked at this graphic illustrating "Knitting uses 2 needles" and had a momentary thought "maybe we could use a better graphic and not use AI"? #GameofWool

Current horror story: 3 colour colourwork on sleeves on a knit using 2 strands of yarn for every colour. That's 6 balls! What was I thinking?
Previous horror story: left my fave mitts in the pockets of a coat I donated.

The questions in this survey are so depressing, go do it and put some resistance in your answers, like asking where the space is for research that isn't just giving money to businesses and doing their R&D for them.

I don't wear socks, so the only ones I ever knit are gifts. These ones are in a really nice mohair sock yarn from Whistlebare, and they were for my lovely sister-in-law who had very kindly received my inkle loom and shipped it to me from the US. #ShowMeYourKnits

The project top of mind for me this week for care in knitting is the Emotional Support Chicken I knit for work. I had a couple students last week who were super nervous before a big event and trying to hold it together, and they both took advantage of the offer to hug the chicken. #ShowMeYourKnits

I just finished my blanket yesterday, so my WIP is just a tiny wee starting triangle of a Sophie hood in the new colour of Isager Soft. it's really hard to get the actual colour to photograph - it's lavender, but it does tone quite grey, which I actually love. #ShowMeYourKnits

For Sweater week I picked Mayu by Espace Tricot because it's the most successful and loved sweater I made for my kid. I first made one in 2017, and he loved and wore it so much I had to make a new one a couple years ago after it wore out. This is version 2. #ShowMeYourKnits
