Resident Evil continues.

I finally died for the first time. Not to any of the fearsome monsters encountered thus far but to a damn boulder.

Then I hit a puzzle that requires an item I completely missed and will have to backtrack to find.

Jill Sandwich rushes hurriedly down a dark and spooky forest trail, Beretta M92F at the ready. Malicious birds and malcontent dogs stalk her from the shadows, ready to waste her ammo.

Jill enters a room, shotgun ready, unaware that the largest and hairiest tarantula ever lurks just above her head. This photographer, dear reader, loosed a sort of Hank Hill-esque "buhhhhhh!" in terror.

Jill investigates an underwater control room as a gigantic battle-scarred Great White shark smashes its snout into the glass, eying her for a meal.

Having now slain giant spiders and sharks, Jill Sandwich bravely continues her quest into darkness, emboldened in her ability to whoop ass. Her trusty shotgun (the regular kind, because she callously let Richard die) yearns for more combat.

Got a Japanese original Xbox controller today. Was surprised to see that the ABXY buttons were slightly different, with the letters being embossed which is pretty cool. I primarily got it because I like the centre circle being bright green like the console itself.

Vampire Lord Dmitri blasphemously performs a Christ Air jump kick to the head of sexy succubus Morrigan in her gothic lady lair.

In their rematch in Dmitri's vampire lair, with his mind-controlled brides spectating, sexy succubus Morrigan takes her revenge, knocking his feet out from under him with an aerobatic, gravity-defying sweep kick.

Talbain and Felicia meet for a second bout on a rooftop bathed in pink neon light. Jon's ferocious wolf nature contrasts with Felicia's feminine feline agility.

A spooky RPG for spooky season. Only a couple hours in, so I don't have much to say about it yet, but it's definitely a prime example of the chunky PS1 graphical aesthetic. The animation is all mo-capped and is stunning for the time.

Mysterious young woman Koudelka Lasant, having just broken in to the foreboding Nemeton Monastery, rescues well-meaning himbo Edward Plunkett from a zombie and then heals his wounds with the psychic powers granted by her Romani heritage.

Brave Edward faces a giant plant monster three times his size armed with only a sledgehammer he procured on the premises.

Edward gives scumbag Bishop James O'Flaherty a tongue-lashing over his un-Chistlike derision of the poor. Koudelka puts her hands on her hips, annoyed that the boys are fighting. A grim stained-glass window depicting a tortured martyr looms behind them.

With trepidation, Koudelka approaches a holy altar that has been tainted by the haunting of a cursed ghost.

Finally chosen my first game for the spooky season, it's time for my yearly playthrough of Doom 3!

Shaking things up this year by playing the original Xbox steelbook version which I got recently, and by completing it on veteran difficulty which I've not done for the Xbox!

I fuckin' love this game.

A day late, but happy Fighting Game Friday.

Maybe I'm basic but 3rd Strike Chun-Li is my favorite fighting game character to play.

And it's impossible to photograph her without prominently featuring her powerful crotch.
