When it was clear that Bush II lied about why the U.S. invaded Iraq, he said it was the right thing to do anyway because the dictator was toppled. Trump is setting up the same scenario in Venezuela: Pretend it's about drugs when it's about oil and conquest, then brag about overthrowing a dictator.

Woah. Newsmax’s legal analyst just said Pete Hegseth and everyone involved in the illegal boat strike should be “prosecuted for a war crime.”

They’ve even lost Newsmax on this one.

I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

1) this from @marisakabas.bsky.social is good as always

2) as she lays out, part of the problem is there is an entire class of journalist and of publication that is obsessed…OBSESSED with access. if access can be taken away then you need to pull punches

Moral rot in elite journalism is killing the whole field
The Nuzzi/RFK Jr. mess and the revelation of Esptein's journo pals lay bare a profound moral absence at the heart of our free press.

Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."
