It sucks, while (personally) I've found women industry vets incredibly generous with time, networking & opportunities, they themselves are still marginalized, having to constantly create opportunities & struggle. It has its own issues, but I've had a smoother time with the Pub House side of comics.

In my mind, honestly, the best way to deal with these folks is correct their bullshit and not allow them to drive the convo, not try to convert. The shittiest folks among us will still benefit from M4A, electoral reform, civil rights, green reforms, etc. THAT is the empathy, a better shared world.

Thing is, the audience was doing the right thing, someone in their community was saying lies & they were correcting them, not name-calling, or shaming. We need that. Empathy w/o correction just enables worse behavior.
