Writing rongs.

"Dave" at work. Gillingham lad, lives Madrid/Mallorca, works London. Posts mostly whimsy and delight in the small things. Interested in everything. Love is all you need. Love and money for rent. And music. The three things...
The directing's dandy. Just don't let him write...
Rewatched STAR TREK ‘09. We gotta get JJ out of director jail, man.

Spent the morning working while listening to isolated Reni drum tracks and 50 Cent interviews.

It confirmed that there are not enough Reni drum.tracks to isolate.

And that every interview should involve 50 Cent.

Sorry Marvel. I enjoyed old Avengers, but then you got me excited about Shang Chi, Kate Bishop, Yelena and She-Hulk.

If you're back to just playing the old hits then Mr Gunn's fresh new take at DC looks a sight more interesting.

Two nights ago the SD card finally gave out in the Pi that acts as my Plex server.

Finally got it all set up and running again tonight.

In between there was a full days work (including a call that ran from midnight to 4am last night), airport collections, mall-runs, wrapping, clothes washes...

I mean yeah it’s an authoritarian takeover but can we take some comfort in the fact that the people doing it are INSANELY stupid?

AFCON is going to feel like an aaaaage.

Proud of that United performance.

With few exceptions, I'm a firm believer in TV shows concentrating their best work into short runs.

But I'm not ready to wave this one off.
Star Trek Strange New Worlds wrapped up production.

Don’t know about you, but…

… I’m gonna miss Anson’s quaff. 😢

Embarrassing that The Telegraph got the story about Walliams being dropped by Murdoch's publisher

Between the FIFA 'award', the "Hall of Fame" plaques and the Kennedy Arts Centre 'renaming', the Trump-troll-a-thon really has veered into pitiable hilarity.

Keep thinking this. The man's a jumped-up mob-boss. A glorified Troll who should very clearly be in jail let alone running a country, yet somehow no-one really questions it.

We're living The Emperor's New Clothes.

Just can't find the right kid to laugh at him and break the spell.
That we just keep rolling along with pretending he's not manifestly non compos mentis will be studied by future generations as a kind of mass psychosis.

Gonna start describing evenings spent slouched on the sofa in my pants watching TV while eating pistachios as "Dubai style".

Went here a couple years ago. Cos of Rob Reiner I finally got to try the FLC's franks and kinishes.

Just one of many small ways he made my life better.

In more positive news, after the F1 last weekend, the Knicks have made the Cup final this. Plus the Gills are still in the fight for play-off places.

Just need United to win tomorrow, now.

Fuck the gunmen. Fuck Hamas. Fuck Likkud.

Fuck anyone who mindlessly kills innocent people going about their day because of an accident of birth.

And if the white, male, right wants a "race" war on a similar basis I'm happy to disabuse them.

Ahmed Al-Ahmed.

We sit and wait for some superhero to come and save us like in the movies.

When the people who make the difference are like him, and Ignacio Echeverría, and Joel Verite, and Adrian Daulby - people like you and me who rise to the moment.

They deserve our rememberance. And awe.

Just rewatched the first Zootopia. Remember about 8 years ago thinking it meant well but was laying things on a bit thick and have resisted it since.

Tonight it felt like the most coherent, lucid, intelligent critique of mainstream political trends.

Am I imagining that every time Trump does one of his 300 word "I'm so healthy" bore-offs, it seems to coincide with more photos of his hand-canula cover-ups?

I'm still a bit emotional about stuff like this after losing mum this year, but I found this earlier and my throat's been catching ever since.

What a send off.

And WHAT a fucking song.
