Filmed outside a police station in Teheran. Arrested protestors are lined up against a wall. You don't see, but you hear:

"Death to Khamenei!" ...gunshot
"Down with the regime!" ...gunshot
"Death to Khamenei!" ...gunshot
"Death to the Dictator!" ...gunshot

their last words...

I dread when we find out how many have been killed. Some already estimate it is over 10 000. Most of them probably young people. All because a decrepit old man won't leave power.

In 1991, the night from Jan 12 to Jan 13, these innocent Lithuanian people were killed by the Soviet troops.

Teenager fatally shot in the back, young woman who was about to marry that summer crushed by a tank, fathers, newlyweds.

#Iran At least 544 people killed in nationwide protests including 48 security forces. A @TIME estimate suggests that the number of protesters killed by Iranian security forces could be in the thousands but “no precise death toll can be ascertained.”

More from Tehran and Shiraz today. Footage coming out has dropped sharply due to IRGC/Basij raids searching for Starlink terminals, and extreme jamming causing massive packet loss, making it nearly impossible to upload or send content.

There are reports that during "restoration", bodies were not dug up - construction workers just poured concrete over everything.

Now, Russia has "rebuilt" the site of its war crimes. This is beyond cynical.

This should once and for all remove the "Russia has justified security concerns because of NATO expansion"-narrative. Russia's concern with NATO was always that it would prevent Russia's imperial war. NATO was never the cause of the war. The NATO-argument was meant to slow support for Ukraine.
It's been there all the time with Putin. Revanchism is, apart from theft, one of Putin's big motivators. We could have stopped it, or prepared for it, already then. But no, 20 years of forced forgetfulness of history followed with maybe the worst generation of leaders ever.
Christmas came early to the Russia scholars with Santa declassifying the Bush-Putin meeting transcripts.

That's 2001. Ukraine is Russian land, simply given away for no reason, as if USSR had not collapsed and there was no Ukraine independence referendum. And, long before the 2008 Bucharest Summit
