Oh no
I grew up in rural PA and now live in the Bay Area and I’ve always been struck by the way people here who grew up in well-to-do, well-educated liberal families talk about conservatives with an almost anthropological remove while my wife and I are just like “fuck those guys”
Because most of us were not raised by radical leftists. We know the conservative mindset perfectly well because it’s not like they’re shy about speaking their minds.

Crypto’s main utility is speculation and as dark money for illicit activities. The fact that everyone involved is a right-wing lunatic is just a nice cherry on top reason for a Harris admin to crush the industry.

The article makes clear the connections and details of how Vance was chosen VP straight from the TechBros mouths. Not Don Jr.

I have to say this is an alarming thing that despite paying overly close attention to this election I hadn’t quite put together like this before.

It’s actually hilarious that he momentarily convinced people he was semi-normal during the debate and then everyone immediately went “oh right, this guy sucks”
My favorite thing about hating JD Vance is that I'll never have to do it alone

Want to turn off iPhone notifications for annoying fundraising texts and filter them into their own box?

Two steps:
—Settings > Messages > [scroll to bottom] Filter Unknown Senders > ON
—Settings > Messages > Notifications > [scroll to bottom] Customize Notifications > Unknown Senders > OFF
Look at the relentlessness of my filtered texts now that you all showed me how to send them to their own special place 😭

Kind of like how it’s much cheaper to just pay for everyone to have preventative medicine rather than wait until they end up in the emergency room. Many such cases
A classic of the school funding advocacy genre (that happens to be true): it costs society less to educate a child today than to pay for the consequences of not having educated them tomorrow.

Incidentally, this is why I always hated the ironic “It’s too bad this guy is so funny” posts. He’s not funny! He sucks! All you’re doing is building a meme that less-informed people will uncritically accept.
Harris would lose the election in a landslide and she would deserve it. With Trump, this will barely get a mention in mainstream outlets.

Meanwhile, NYT reports young voters like Trump because they think he's epic and funny.

Scrolling the timeline you’d assume Trump had moved ahead by 5 points when in reality, Harris is in the lead. 2016 PTSD is real

Ooh parallels to authoritarian leaders. Could that be because he’s a fascist authoritarian?
NEW —> 'Totally illegal': Trump escalates rhetoric on outlawing political dissent and criticism

While it riles his crowds, even some Trump voters don’t favor revenge.

Experts see parallels to authoritarian leaders, past and present.

Dems fear the worst.

'Totally illegal': Trump escalates rhetoric on outlawing political dissent and criticism
“This is out of the autocratic playbook. As autocrats consolidate their power once they’re in office, anything that threatens their power ... becomes illegal,” historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat said.

Maybe I’m just choosing to believe this for my own sanity, but everything except the polls supports the idea that Harris will win rather easily and there’s decent reason to think the polls are underestimating her this time around

I bought a book about an instance of witchcraft in 1650’s Massachusetts. The cast of characters contains this incredible line: “George and Hannah Langton, who were convinced their steamed meat pudding was bewitched.”

It really does feel like everything except the polls is pointing towards a relatively easy Harris win
Trump's ground-game is bad and Dems have way more enthusiasm.

On the one hand it's depressing as hell the polling is so close despite that, but on the other hand those two factors are exactly how an apparently close race ends up not close at all when the votes are counted.

1. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh - I grew up thinking every city had a museum with a huge dino exhibit

2. Museo del Prado in Madrid - The Garden of Earthly Delights is worth the admission alone. Also, Goya’s Black Paintings

3. American Museum of Natural History in NYC - Duh
