Marlene Dietrich comes to America

Marlene Dietrich enjoyed success on stage and screen in 1920s Berlin. That year she came to the United States to star in Morocco alongside Gary Cooper.

The President of the United States appears to be getting regular IV infusions, the public doesn’t know anything about it, & the DC media evidently doesn’t care.

We are months into the mystery of Trump’s hands, the White House is lying, & I’ve seen a grand total of one serious news story about it.
Trump looked pretty rough today -- note that both of his hands are discolored

Yes, the archive is down again.

Yes, it's a power outage from PG&E.

Yes, there's been something like 4-5 in the last few weeks.

PG&E has a monopoly. We are waiting for the power to return.

It's not QUITE all down to the last game in the NFC South -- the Falcons still have something to say!

In the three-way-tie at 8-9, the Panthers come out on top, even with losing to the Buccaneers next week.

I am still amazed that we have all of the 1920s cinema out of US copyright jail! It was a long time waiting for 1923! It was over 20 years between 1922 entering the public domain and 1923 finally escaping.

And remember to untoast Disney, the Gershwin and Fitzgerald estates and Sonny Bono for this!

there is one and only one political strategy, and that is: “hang trump like an anchor around the neck of every single elected republican and the party itself.” no ‘friends across the aisle.’ no ‘the fever will break.’ anyone not on board with that has to go. no exceptions

Trump got high on his own supply & never figured out the only reason his 1st term wasn’t even more of a disaster was that he inherited & coasted on a good economy. He’s learning the hard way now. Nuts senile person having nuke codes when you also can’t find a job is tough scenes

Also, a lively public domain is good!

It is not good that you still can't do this sort of thing with Catcher in the Rye (which would take to it well) or On the Road, or any of a variety of other "classics."
