Stunning morning today around Arthur Seat. We saw then heard a Common Redstart, who checked us out but took flight before I could try to take a photo. The Merlin app confirmed this rare wee bird. #Birds #ScottishBirds

My autism has given me a love for nature, where I feel free and calm. Whether it's the beach or the woods, it's where I connect with the world in my own way.

Five years ago, wewalked around Arthur's Seat every morning stopping to assist the toads on their #ToadMigration The early days of lockdown had everyone running or cycling around the hill to save their sanity, but for me the toads were more important 🐸 x.com/sallymiranda...

1. One of capitalism’s greatest successes is to shut down our imaginations. With the help of its favoured tools - neoliberalism and fascism - it persuades us that “there is no alternative”. Our first task is to re-ignite our moral imaginations and name our alternatives. 🧵

We're trying to raise £25,000 to keep fighting for a wealth tax in the UK.

We'll use donations to:

- Train 3 new media spokespeople
- Get 500 new wealth tax mentions in the media
- Host roundtable meetings in Parliament pushing for a wealth tax

I heard then saw a Skylark this morning at Lauristin Farm while on the Birdsong Survey Walk with Prof. John Frank. We heard and identified 35 birds in total thanks to the ID skills of a young lad Felix that came along

Heard the Song Thrush for the first time this year - what a song! Watched tree surgeons remove the Elm they felled a couple of days ago, with a hydraulic arm on a tractor. "Diseased, it had to go"

I'm delighted to be working from home this week writing reports. Not least because it means I can get out on these cold but gloriously sunny mornings for a walk around Arthur Seat with the Merlin App, listen to the birds and look out for toads 💚
