Hi, Bluesky!

We're a small grassroots organisation in Edinburgh, Scotland dedicated to fighting transphobia, championing trans liberation and joy and a safer future for trans youth.

Despite reposting the call to arms below, I didn’t act on it until a few minutes ago.

Why? Because it felt too hard and overwhelming.

It was SO EASY.

Add your name to the letter now. If you choose not to write anything individual it will take less than a minute ❤️

We got a 'response' from the BBC, who couldn't be bothered to write more than 3 small paragraphs (153 words) to our letter, and avoided all the points raised.

This is why your help is important.

We sent a formal complaint to the BBC over its repeated misgendering of trans people and use of terms like “biological male”. We’ve also written to the Women and Equalities Committee, DCMS, and the Minister for Women and Equalities. Now we need community action.

📢We now need your help! 1/3
We’ve today formally written to multiple public bodies about BBC reporting on transgender people.

Here’s who we’ve contacted and why. 1/6

I had the privilege of contributing a poem to @rtie.org's Supreme Injustice zine. I wrote a sonnet inspired by the indelible beauty of my transfeminine sisters/siblings, because god, do they deserve a love poem.

If you're interested in how this came about, earlier this year with @rtie.org I had a go at collating resources detailing the operation and effects of far right 'Christian' groups on UK politics and discourse, focusing on trans people this last decade or so:

Resisting Transphobia in Edinburgh (RTiE) lead a demonstration in Edinburgh today to support and protect Scotland’s transgender community in the face of rising persecution and discrimination. Today we are standing strong and together and saying no to the idea that segregation can ever be liberation.

A demonstration has been scheduled to coincide with & counteract a protest from Women Won’t Wheesht over the Supreme Court’s ruling for single-sex spaces. They demand that this be implemented across all government departments, a policy that we believe is demeaning & dehumanising for trans people.

The EHRC claims the 2011 Code is “legally incorrect” after the For Women Scotland Supreme Court ruling, which said “sex” means biological sex.

But that case didn’t remove trans protections or require rewriting the Code. This is a political move, not a legal necessity.
Services, public functions and associations: Code of Practice | EHRC
People with the protected characteristics set out in the Act should not be discriminated against when using any service provided publicly or privately, whether that service is for payment or not. Courts and tribunals must take this Code of Practice into account in cases involving discrimination in services, public authorities carrying out public functions or membership associations.

“The Cass Review's contradictions are striking. It acknowledged some trans young people benefit from [blockers], but its recommendations have made this currently inaccessible to all. It found no evidence psychological treatments improve gender dysphoria, yet recommended expanding their provision.”

The ongoing moral manic about trans people did not just arise organically.

Well-funded propaganda organisations associated with the so-called Christian right have deliberately stoked it as part of their broader campaign attacking the rights of women, gay people and others.

A timeline of the actions of the extemist anti-trans hate movement in the UK
This has got to me a bit today so here we go.

No Rebecca we can't have a calm discussion for the way forward when one side's intention is to eliminate us, secondly the heat is coming from one side, it's the side accusing trans people of being paedophiles, rapists, cheats and predators.

We’re hearing that EHRC’s updated Code is now with the Minister for Equalities.

Now, more than ever, it’s critical to write to your MP to get them to pressure her for a debate & vote in Parliament, not for this Code to become statutory automatically.

Please do write; template letter linked below 🙏
Success! We delivered our joint letter demanding full scrutiny, meaningful debate & a free vote for MPs on the new Code of Practice.
www.thepinknews.com/2025/09/02/e...

Many MPs we’ve spoken to are now ready to help.

❗️BUT they’ve advised that they need you—as constituents—to keep writing in❗️

Please look after yourself today.

Sure, do the things that help like emailing your MP, but balance this with being present and doing things that bring you joy.

Close this app. Speak to friends and plan something fun to do this weekend and focus on that.
