maybe there’s some stage of middle age that I will reach where it will somehow be an object of major fixation to me what is being taught and said on college campuses but until then, what is everyone so worked up about

Occasionally I’ll be walking through a campus or whatever and my main observation is how young everyone looks and how insignificant this time will be in grand scheme of their lives, it really baffles me

I will just never, ever understand people who care so much what happens on college campuses be it protests or grade inflation or anything. I graduated 6 years ago and I give it soooo little thought in my life now.

it really does feel that the core of a lot of contemporary right wing ideology is a childlike rejection of complexity - the government shouldn't have to make difficult trade offs, clearly there are large areas where costs can be cut to avoid trade offs/taxes
